Well, after a 3 hour flight we landed at Bangkok. There were 3 main things planned for this trip. Shopping, Tiger temple and Phi Phi island. So we carried the bare minimum stuff. Couple of tees and a jeans.
At the airport, as you walk towards the immigration there are smoking zones for the much needed Nicotine dose. Remember, if you are getting a visa on arrival, first go to the VISA counter before you go to immigration queue. Pay 1200 TBH for a speedy visa, though the receipt only mentions 1000 ;)
At the airport, there is a CHUBB baggage deposit. Just in case you need to keep your excess luggage or if you pick up a LCD that you don't want to carry around.
The drive from the airport to Bangkok city takes about 1.30 hrs depending on traffic.
At least 60% if not more are pick-up trucks that you see en-route. Mitsubishi, Toyota and sometimes a Ford. For the reputation that this city is much known for, We found it very decent and safe. People are nice and helpful. Traffic is very organized. Roads are well maintained. City is clean. Public transport is excellent.
